Configuring Business Central Accounts

Overview

You must create Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central accounts to connect to the data sources you want to use in your pipelines. You can configure your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central accounts in SnapLogic (R) using either the Designer or the Manager.

Snap-Account Compatibility

Snaps in the Microsoft Business Central Snap Pack work with the accounts and protocols in the following table:

Drag the Microsoft Business Central Snap to the canvas and click the Snap to open its settings. Click the Account tab. You can now either use an existing account or create a new one.

Select an Existing Account

The SnapLogic platform organizes and displays all accounts you can access, sorting them by account type and location. To select an existing account:

  1. In the Account tab, click the icon to view the accounts you can access and select the account you want to use.

Create an Account

  1. In the Account tab, click Add Account (below the Account Reference field).

  2. Select the location where you want to create the account, select the Account Type, and click Continue. The Add Account dialog window associated with the account type displays:

  3. Enter the required account details. For detailed guidance on how to provide the necessary information to each account type, refer to the following articles:

Enter additional information about this account in the Notes field of the Info tab to help you and other users understand the purpose of the account, especially if there are multiple accounts with the same type.

  1. Click Validate to verify the account if the account type supports validation.

  2. Click Apply to complete configuring the Microsoft Business Central account.

Configure Microsoft Business Central Snap Pack Accounts with SnapLogic Manager

You can use Manager to create accounts without associating them immediately with pipelines.

Accounts in the SnapLogic platform are associated with projects. You can use accounts created in other projects only if you have at least Read access to them.

  1. In the left pane, browse to the project under which you want to create the account and click  > Account  Microsoft Business Central Snap Pack, followed by the appropriate account type. The Create Account dialog associated with the selected account type displays:

  2. Repeat the steps numbered 3 through 5 in the Creating an Account section. 

Avoid updating account credentials when pipelines using that account are executing because doing so might lead to unexpected results, including your account getting locked.
