Summer 2016 Launch Updates (4.6.0)

Live on production 8/13/2016.

Before You Begin

You may need to clear your browser cache before you log into the latest SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform.

See the appropriate documentation for your browser:

You may see an Upgrade Notice dialog informing you that you will be logged out immediately to complete the update process. Because the SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform consists of multiple applications, you will likely see this message multiple times.

Accounts and Platform Updates

Some accounts may have a fixed time for refresh tokens, such as Google accounts that must be refreshed every hour. If that refresh needs to occur when the platform is down for an update, the refresh does not occur. To prevent these accounts from failing after a new platform deployment, it is recommended that you refresh your accounts before the designated down time.

Browsers

It is recommended that you upgrade to the latest version of your browser.

Enhancements

General

  • Removed SnapLogic cookie usage to conform with security best practices as identified by security audits.
  • Hadoop and Windows support for enhanced encryption.
  • All Cloudplex engines will be updated to use Java 1.8 (JRE 8).

Designer

  • When importing pipelines, the file type now defaults to the pipeline extension of .slp.
  • Pipeline parameters for triggered tasks, Ultra tasks, and scheduled tasks can now be set to be captured in the Pipeline Execution Statistics (Runtime History). This is configured in the Pipeline Properties dialog.
  • Mapper Snap:
    • You can now expand/collapse all nodes of a schema tree by holding the Shift key while clicking on the plus (+) sign.
    • Schemas with less than 1000 entries will now auto-expand when searching/filtering.

Manager

  • UI/Behavior

    • Asset list table columns can now be resized in Manager.
    • A project or project space can no longer be deleted if it contains assets.
      • Note: This prevents you from deleting a project in a non-dev phase in lifecycle management.
  • Runtime Archive
    • Breadcrumb navigation added to Runtime Archive.
    • Runtime Archive is now sorted in Name order.
  • Triggered Tasks now have the option Do not start a new execution if one is already active. If you attempt to call the triggered task when it is already running, you will receive a 409 error.
  • You can now whitelist IP address ranges in the org Settings to restrict Triggered Tasks to only run on cloud URLs in the specified IP range.
  • When configuring/updating a Snaplex, you can add a user-configurable load balancer and ultra load balancer URL for ease of use.

Dashboard

  • A visual indicator was added to note Spark-enabled Snaplex nodes on the Snaplex Health wall.
  • The URI of a Groundplex is now available in the "Additional information" panel to the JCC/FeedMaster nodes on the Snaplex Health wall

Administration

  • Hadooplexes can be configured to log to disk rather than stdout and stderr. See Configuring Hadooplexes for more information.
  • The Scale in threshold and Scale out threshold fields have been removed from the Update Snaplex dialog for Hadooplexes.
  • The configuration option jcc.heap.max_size can now be set to auto, meaning that SnapLogic will automatically set the max heap size based on the available machine memory

For information on Snap updates, see the Summer 2016 (4.6) section of Snap Updates, 2016.
