Configuring Source and Destination Connections

A new version of AutoSync is available in Studio! Check out the documentation.

AutoSync integrations synchronize data between cloud and on-premises data sources and CDWs. When creating an integration, you supply the information required to connect one source to one destination. AutoSync supports different load methods for each source-destination pair.

The following sections describe:

Creating and Sharing Connection Configuration

An AutoSync integration requires connection parameters for the selected source and destination. Depending on the source or destination type, a connection might require OAuth or parameters such as a username, password, and host URL.

You can create new connection configurations or select from saved configurations, if available. Saved configurations can include:

  • Those that you created in AutoSync.

  • Accounts that you or an Org admin created in the SnapLogic IIP in one of the following locations:

    • The global shared folder

    • The shared folder of the AutoSync Project Space

    • Your AutoSync project.

An AutoSync integration cannot use an Account created in the IIP from a dynamic Account type.

If you have access to the SnapLogic IIP, view the Accounts and connection configurations saved in your AutoSync project as follows:

  1. Click the Manager tab to open Manager in the IIP.

  2. In the Project Spaces tree, expand ~SL-AutoSync-ProjectSpace.

  3. Select your AutoSync project. The name is of the format ~User~<username>_<snaplogic_org>:

  4. In the Assets table, select the Accounts tab.

+ For Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales upsert synchronization, you must only select tables with primary keys to synchronize.

** For Zendesk Upsert and SCD2 synchronization types, AutoSync cannot synchronize the line, greeting, greeting_category, address, and ivr tables after the initial load, because they have no timestamp in Zendesk.

For questions about supported configurations, contact AutoSync customer support at support@snaplogic.com.

Using On-premises Data Sources

Snaplexes are the data processing engines that execute AutoSync integrations. All Orgs that use AutoSync have a dedicated Snaplex for integrations. SnapLogic manages the dedicated Snaplex, which runs in the cloud. To allow AutoSync to connect to an on-premises data source, your Org must also have a self-managed Snaplex that can connect to that source. When an integration for an on-premises data source runs, start-up processing executes first on the cloud Snaplex and the remainder of processing executes on the self-managed Snaplex. AutoSync supports Oracle and SQL Server on-premises data sources.

To configure and use an on-premises data source:

  1. An Org admin must give execute privileges to the fastdataloader@snaplogic.com user:

    1. Navigate to the Project associated with the self-managed Snaplex.

    2. From the Project dropdown menu, select Permissions.

    3. In the Add field, enter fastdataloader@snaplogic.com.

    4. For permissions, select Read & Execute.

    5. Click Share and Save.

    6. Click Done.

  2. Create the AutoSync integration and check Select for an on-premises source.

  3. Select the appropriate self-managed Snaplex:

    1. If you create AutoSync integrations, but do not administer the SnapLogic platform, ask your Org admin for the name of the self-managed Snaplex to use for on-premises data sources.

    2. If you administer a SnapLogic Org, and do not have a self-managed Snaplex, contact your SnapLogic representative and refer to Deploying a Self-Managed Snaplex.
