Teamcenter BOM Structure Create

In this article

Overview

You can use this Snap to create a new Teamcenter software bill of materials (BOM) Structure based on the specifications of an input JSON document. The Teamcenter parts, items, or elements of derived data types must already exist in the system.

Snap Type

The Teamcenter BOM Structure Create Snap is a Write-type Snap that writes JSON documents to the Teamcenter software.

The Teamcenter BOM structure based on an input JSON document specification.

Within the JSON document it is possible:

  • to specify the root BOM node by setting the lineObject attribute with the Teamcenter UID

  • to set the revision rule by use of revisionRule attribute

  • to set the BOM view type by use of bomViewType attribute

  • to set the precise option

  • add structured list of child elements by adding child lists
each child must have a lineObject attribute and may contain linedata attributes to set BOM line attribute values.

Error

Error handling is a generic way to handle errors without losing data or failing the Snap execution. You can handle the errors that the Snap might encounter when running the pipeline by choosing one of the following options from the When errors occur list under the Views tab:

  • Stop Pipeline Execution: Stops the current pipeline execution if the Snap encounters an error.

  • Discard Error Data and Continue: Ignores the error, discards that record, and continues with the remaining records.

  • Route Error Data to Error View: Routes the error data to an error view without stopping the Snap execution.
